Call the receiving laboratory and describe the problem.
Ask which live animals or tissues they need and how many.
Ask for the correct containers, preservation and transport conditions.
Different PCR, histology and culture tests may need different samples.
Record pond ID, dates, signs, mortality, water readings and recent inputs.
Do not add chemicals or preservatives without the laboratory’s instructions.
Keep affected equipment separate; do not spread suspect water or stock.
